    Markings

    • Hurricane Mk I trop P3731/J, 418 Flight, HMS Argus, Operation Hurry, August 1940 . Aeroplane delivered to Malta on Board of Aircraft Carrier and joined new 261 Squadron RAF.  Some pilots claimed aerial victories flying that aeroplane, eg. on 19 January 1941 Sgt Fred Robertson achieved his sixth kill. Early desert camouflage was painted with green blotches covered with colour kniown later as Mid Stone.
    • Hurricane Mk I Trop V-7476, 1 Aircraft Depot , second half 1942. Aeroplane painted with RAAF camouflage of the Foliage Green / Earth Brown / Sky Blue. Foliage Geen and Sky Blue colours faded badly, especially blue turned to almost white shade.
    • Hurricane Mk I Trop V-7476, RAAF Station, Point Cook, February 1945 r. Standard RAAF fighters livery used from 1944. Metal surfaces left unpainted and polished, wood or fabric surfaces painted with aluminium dope.
