Closing the First Curtiss Production Run – Three Early-Engine Variants
The Curtiss H-75 / P-36 family in 1/72 scale has been one of our key projects in last year. The first production cycle included kits 70080 (H-75 A-1/A-2) and 70081 (P-36A Hawk).
Over the past months these kits have been unavailable – we had no sprues in stock and were unable to offer complete sets.
During preparation for the production of kit 70082, we received a new batch of sprues common to the early-engine Curtiss family. This allowed us to assemble a very limited number of 70080 and 70081 kits using remaining decal sheets and boxes from the original production run.
This is not a reissue. It is the closing of the first production cycle of these editions.
- 70080 – 58 kits available
- 70081 – 2 kits available
Preorder 70082 – the right moment for three Curtiss variants
At the same time, preorder for kit 70082 – another early-engine version – is now open. This is a good opportunity to complete the first series and build two or three variants of the same airframe from one production cycle.
The early-engine Curtiss family forms a coherent whole – structurally, historically, and from a modelling perspective. Different countries, different markings, the same technical foundation.
What’s next?
At the beginning of next year we plan to introduce another edition in this family – the Curtiss Mohawk IV. This will open a new production cycle and continue the project with further historical versions.
The current availability of 70080 and 70081 applies exclusively to the first production series of these editions. Once sold out, they will disappear from the offer until a future production cycle is scheduled.
If you were planning to build more than one early-engine Curtiss variant – this is the right moment to complete your set.
