Plastic, from which parts for model building are often made, does not always make it possible to create models with a large number of details. Therefore, other solutions are used to create a replica rich in details. Modelling accessories can be made of various materials: resin elements, parts made using 3D printing, and photo-etched frets. It is the latter that perfectly complement plastic replicas.
Photoetched parts for models
The Eduard brand is one of the main suppliers of photo-etched details used in modelling. These accessories give the replicas a detailed look, which is why they enrich the models. Parts made of brass and copper are produced for a specific type of aircraft or vehicle, as well as for the scale in which it was made. Thanks to this, it is possible to create a replica with a realistic appearance and many details, even on small surfaces. Such a detailed effect is due to the photolithography technique. While other modeling accessories are most often small three-dimensional parts, photoetched elements come in the form of ready-made sets on sheets. From these they need to be cut out, shaped and then placed on the model for which they were intended.
