New Aviation Books at Arma Hobby

Horbaczewski's Mustangs

In Horbaczewski's Mustangs, renowned aviation historian Wojtek Matusiak explores the aircraft flown by Colonel Eugeniusz “Dziubek” Horbaczewski, one of Poland's most successful fighter aces of the Second World War and commanding officer of No. 315 (Polish) Fighter Squadron.

The book combines extensive archival research with rare photographs and detailed analysis of individual aircraft, their markings and operational histories. It is an invaluable reference for anyone interested in wartime Mustangs, Polish fighter pilots or RAF operations over Europe.

Many readers of the Arma Hobby blog will already know Wojtek Matusiak from his numerous articles on Polish aviation history and World War II aircraft.

A Century of Aircraft at the School of Eaglets

The second new arrival offers a much broader perspective on Polish aviation history.

Aircraft of the School of Eaglets 1925–2025 presents nearly one hundred years of aircraft used by the Polish Air Force Academy in Dęblin, traditionally known as the “School of Eaglets”. For generations, this institution has trained military pilots who went on to serve in the Polish Air Force and, during World War II, in Allied air forces.

The book covers almost 90 aircraft, gliders and helicopters, ranging from inter-war trainers and reconnaissance aircraft to jet trainers, transport aircraft and modern military aviation types.

Richly illustrated with archival photographs, contemporary images and colour profiles, it is both a visual history of Polish military flight training and a valuable modelling reference.

Both books are published by the Polish Air Force Museum in Dęblin, an institution dedicated to preserving and promoting the history of Polish military aviation.
