58003 – Hurricane Mk I 1/48 Accessories (3D Print)
This is a set of essential accessories for the Hurricane Mk I 1/48 kit from Arma Hobby – designed to improve the areas that are most visible on the finished model, without complicating the build.
Selected parts were produced using 3D printing where injection-moulded plastic inevitably requires compromises. As a result, the details are sharper, thinner and closer to the real aircraft, while installation remains straightforward and safe. These are upgrades that fit naturally into the model – with no extra workload and no change to the overall character of the kit.
Set contents
Pilot’s seat with harness – ready for painting
The pilot’s seat is one of the most visible elements of the cockpit, so it has been refined from the ground up:
- very thin, sharp edges,
- seat belts moulded as an integral detail,
- overall shape consistent with original documentation.
No photo-etched belts required — take it out, wash it, paint it.
Wing landing lights – sharper detail and easier painting
Plastic landing lights have their limitations. In the 3D-printed version:
- edges are crisp and well defined,
- the recess shows delicate internal framework and rivet detail,
- a three-armed bulb holder is visible at the front.
This part represents the original more accurately and reads better once painted.
Exhaust stacks – open ends, full geometry
The 3D-printed version delivers what plastic cannot:
- factory-opened exhaust ends,
- raised sheet-metal joint lines on the collector,
- natural, smooth curves.
A small upgrade with a big visual impact.
Landing Gear Locking Stirrup – the characteristic undercarriage latch
On the Hurricane, the wheels were held in place after retraction by a small but clever locking stirrup. In plastic it would be too fragile, so a 3D-printed version was created.
Installation is simple: cut off the axle protruding from the wheel hub, drill a single hole, and you’re done.
- small, yet easy to handle with tweezers,
- true to the original,
- simple and safe to install.
Practical tip
3D resin is more fragile than plastic. We recommend removing parts carefully, ideally using a razor saw — it really makes the job easier.
Why choose it?
It’s a quick way to make your model look better where it matters most — without extra complications or risky modifications. And if you have your own 3D printer, you can also print all parts yourself using the STL files available via the link in the kit instructions.
